The work of CAIS is supported by five Commissions and an Advisory Committee. All six are made up of volunteers from member schools. Commission and Advisory Committee members are invited to serve based on suggestions made by Heads of CAIS Schools, active commission members, or those who wish to serve.
The 60+ commissioners bring outstanding resources of skill and experience, provide a diversity of perspective and personal / professional backgrounds, offer insights into current school considerations and trends, and ensure that as many different schools as possible have a voice shaping and informing CAIS professional learning programming.
Participation on a commission also serves CAIS schools by providing leadership and professional growth opportunities for those who volunteer and by enabling networking across CAIS schools within commissions. Commissioners are typically fulfilled by the work and have described participation in a CAIS commission as “one of the favorite parts of my work.”
